MIXTAPE features new and recent works by six Australia based artists engaging with abstraction and challenging perceptions of paint as a two dimensional art form by creating entire visual worlds through painting, sculpture and installation. 

Inflected by pop-culture, decorative and design materials these artists all unpick traditional concepts of painting via recasting hard-edged abstraction, reimagining the traditional landscape and/or recreating the ‘non-objective’ into arresting objects of considered form. 

All the while investigating formal concerns of colour, form, finish and spatial composition to address the subjective nature
