Diana Palmer, is a curator, arts advisor and advocate with more than 20 years experience working in the contemporary visual arts within Australia and globally.
Through fostering relationships with key galleries, artists and philanthropic programs, Diana aims to support the acquisition of emerging and established artist, bringing a dynamic and engaging focus to the collection of contemporary Australian and International art.
In addition to an attentive curatorial approach her work is characterised by a comprehensive understanding of artists’ work and the current contemporary art world, working with clients to successfully deaccession works into significant collections.
Prior to founding curatorial consultancy Palmer Art Projects in 2013, Diana Palmer had professional appointments at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney (MCA), Sullivan+Strumpf, Olsen Gallery and Sotheby’s as well as being appointed guest curator of THE ART HUNTER, a major exhibition of International and Australian art sponsored by Jaguar.
Diana also developed and launched the dynamic Museum of Contemporary Art, Young Ambassadors program. This industry leading program was designed to engage audiences in contemporary art and philanthropy via a calendar of events giving access to curators, artists, collectors and philanthropy and has been a model for philanthropic membership programs in the arts ever since.
With a Masters of Communication from University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Arts & Bachelor of Fine Arts UNSW, Diana brings critical expertise to exhibition development whilst consistently focussing on accessibility and engagement within the arts sector. Most recently she has sat on the Board of Directors of Underbelly Arts Festival and on Woollahra Council Art Committee as well as being an Atelier Patron of the Art gallery of New South Wales and part of the Supporters Program at Ngunnungula, The Southern Highlands Regional Gallery.
