He has been chosen as a finalist for a number of prizes including the Geelong Contemporary Art Prize, the Substation Contemporary Art Prize and the Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize among others.
Jonathan Crowther’s latest collection of work references the changing landscape of image consumption and the the way we engage with imagery through our digital devices and social media feeds. Utilising imagery from his own device and feeds Crowther has constructed a series of paintings that traverse this digital landscape. Continuing the contemporary conversation between photography and painting Crowther creates hyperreal images that explore our relationship with the screen and the world around us.
